GLENVILLE, WV – Jenny Boggs, Payroll and Benefits Coordinator at Glenville State University, has been named the 2023 Staff Employee of the Year.
Nominations for the award noted Boggs’ faithful performance of her duties and the impact her work has on all other employees of the campus. An administrator used phrases like “essential” and “a great coworker” to describe her.
“I was very surprised when President Manchin announced my name - I did not expect it at all. There are so many people I can think of who deserve to be recognized for their hard work, so I believe this is a great honor to have been chosen,” Boggs said.
Originally from Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, Boggs is a graduate of Calhoun County High School, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Computer and Information Systems from Glenville State, and earned a Master of Science degree in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University in 2011. She originally came to Glenville State in August 2007 and has previously worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Department of English, a Program Assistant within the Office of Admissions, with GSU’s Hidden Promise Scholars Program, and in the Business and Finance Office as the Purchasing Card Coordinator.
“My favorite part of working at GSU are the people. I feel very blessed to witness and work alongside the faculty and staff who make a difference in the lives of our students. The friendly atmosphere and the people really do make GSU the best,” she added.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities, and Bible study.
Boggs becomes the 34th recipient of the staff recognition award that has been presented at Glenville State since 1986. Names of the honorees are displayed on a permanent plaque in the Heflin Administration Building.
