GLENVILLE, WV – Applications are now being accepted for the Glenville State College (GSC) Women’s Leadership Circle Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded in the spring semester to two female students at GSC. Each award totals $500. Interested applicants should complete the online form no later than Sunday, November 1.

“The Women’s Leadership Circle is pleased to sponsor a scholarship to assist female students attending Glenville State College. The Women’s Leadership Circle strives to encourage them to work a little harder and stand a little taller to excel in whatever field they might pursue,” said Karen Lay, Committee Chair for the Women’s Leadership Circle.

The Women’s Leadership Circle (WLC) is a women’s giving circle created and sponsored by the Glenville State College Foundation. Founded on the basis of fellowship, opportunity, and philanthropy, the WLC envisions a community of female givers who provide opportunities and support to female students at Glenville State College. In addition to aiding projects on campus, members will help create a culture of female empowerment on the GSC campus and surrounding community, helping women to prepare for and grow in their careers and leadership positions.

This year, the goal of the Women’s Leadership Circle is to endow the scholarship fund permanently within the GSC Foundation. In order to do this, they are seeking new members from alumni, friends, and community members. A $250 contribution earns membership into Glenville State College’s WLC. Those who wish to participate as a non-voting member may do so with a $100 annual contribution. As a thank you for their service to the College, a discounted rate is available for GSC employees at $100 annually.
